As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Spokane Comprehensive Treatment Center to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

In adherence to the social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC, we have implemented strict protocols at our clinic to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

  • Patients who have active symptoms of illness or a fever of 100 degrees or higher must call ahead to arrange after-hours dosing.
  • The number of people allowed inside the building at any given time is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines.
  • The number of people waiting in line is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines, and those present must maintain a minimum distance of six feet from one another.
  • To maintain line restrictions, patients are asked to wait in their cars until direction is given.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, there are certain restrictions in place regarding on-site visitation at Spokane Comprehensive Treatment Center.

  • These restrictions have been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

Proudly serving the Spokane and Eastern Washington, our methadone clinic provides adults struggling with addiction the ability to recover from heroin, oxycodone, Percocet, and other opiates.

Benefits of Individual Therapy

Benefits of Individual Therapy for Opioid Abuse

Those struggling with addiction must overcome much more than the physical reliance upon a given substance. Since the root causes for addiction extend beyond the physical act of consuming a substance, individuals must gain a deeper understanding about the emotional factors that may have led to the development of the addiction in the first place. By incorporating individual therapy into a comprehensive treatment plan, patients are given the opportunity to discuss their addiction with a highly qualified counselor in a safe one-on-one environment. Those struggling with an addiction to morphine, prescription painkillers, or heroin often experience the following benefits by incorporating individual therapy into their treatment plan:

  • Recognizing past traumatic events that may have led to the abuse of substances in the first place
  • Developing new points of view relating to both the obvious as well as the possible underlying causes of substance abuse
  • Creating new skills for handling negative and stressful feelings in healthy manners
  • Developing the ability to handle setbacks and/or achievements during treatment
  • Devising techniques for how to avoid or cope with future situations in which drug use may be available and alluring
  • Formulating personal goals for both the present as well as the future

When patients are able to gain insight and understanding into their own emotions, behaviors, and feelings, they are able to lay the groundwork for futures that are substance-free. Individual therapy provides patients with the opportunity to openly discuss these topics, as well as aids these individuals in feeling a sense of support between themselves and their counselor.

Through attending individual therapy sessions, patients can benefit in the following ways:

  • Increased self-confidence
  • Enhanced self-esteem
  • Reduced stress
  • Increased self-awareness

These benefits will aid patients in moving toward stable and long-term recovery while leaving behind the overwhelming chains of addiction.
